MANSON — Sheriff’s officials say a potential witness in an earlier murder case was among four people found shot to death in central Washington state this week.
Chelan County Sheriff’s Office says it believes 56-year-old Benito Caro Sedano shot and killed two people in a vehicle near an orchard on Tuesday, then fired at a responding deputy and hit the deputy’s car at least nine times. Later that night, Sedano and his wife were found dead in their home.
KPQ-AM radio in Wenatchee reported that the shootings came the day before Sedano had been due to appear in court on charges related to a kidnapping last December. The victim in the kidnapping case, Ignacio Ramirez, was later found dead, but Sedano had not been charged with the killing.
On Thursday, the sheriff’s office released the identities of the two people found dead in the vehicle: 24-year-old Edgar Cisneros-Costumbre and 58-year-old Jose Luis Leyva Rodriguez. The sheriff said Cisneros had been interviewed by authorities as a potential witness in the earlier kidnapping and murder.
