An updated guide to hiking in Snohomish County is now available. The free guide was written by guidebook author Craig Romano for the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau.
The guide features 30 hikes and includes driving directions, maps and a chart summarizing the various hikes.
The guide features a few new trails, including the Sultan River Canyon Trail near Spada Lake and hikes on the Suiattle River Trail that recently reopened after the road was closed for more than a decade.
The hikes cover a range of terrains, including beaches, rivers, forests, alpine lakes, meadows and mountain tops. A few easy, nearby walks are also included.
The guide can be downloaded online or pick up a copy at one of the Snohomish Visitor Information Centers: 1301 First Street, Snohomish; 19221 Poplar Way, Lynnwood; or 8415 Paine Field Blvd., Mukilteo, in the Future of Flight Aviation Center.
