Brier City Council, Position #4
Tony Corrado: No statement
Kerin Steele:
- Personal: My husband and I moved to Brier eleven years ago because of its large lots, semi-rural character, and quiet, peaceful, safe environment. We have been married for over 40 years and have two grown children. I’m a Seattle native, grew up here and went to Seattle University for my undergraduate work.
- Professional Experience: I have fourteen years of municipal government experience as a paralegal in the land use section of the Seattle City Attorney’s Office. I have also worked in industry and the academic world, having taught both college and high school courses for several years.
- Education: I have BA and MA degrees in English Literature and a Paralegal Certificate from the University of Washington.
- Public Service: I have served on the Brier City Council from 2008 through 2015. Before being elected to the Council, I was chair of the Planning Commission for two years. On the Council, I am the Budget and Audit Liaison and also serve as Brier’s representative to the ESCA Board of Directors. Before our move to Brier, I also served one term on the Woodway Town Council and 12 years on that Planning Commission. I am intent on using my background and experience to preserve Brier’s environment and values.
