Pair of heavy metal hitters visit Everett

The people of Everett have spoken, and they want more metal.

The heavy metal bands Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach will play a show at Xfinity Arena this weekend as a result of an online poll the bands put up to allow their fans to vote and select several cities for their tour. Over 11/2 million people voted to bring the tour to their towns.

The two bands, which have a combined 24 years of thrashing between them, will perform at 6:15 p.m. Sept. 12.

Five Finger Death Punch — comprised of vocalist Ivan Moody, guitarists Zoltan Bathory and Jason Hook, bassist Chris Kael and Jeremy Spencer on drums — comes to Everett soon after releasing its most recent album “Got Your Six.”

Since their formation in 2006, Five Finger Death Punch has produced three Gold-certified albums: “The Way of the Fist” (2007), “War is the Answer” (2009) and “American Capitalist” (2011).

Along with Five Finger Death Punch is co-headliner Papa Roach. Celebrating the 15th anniversary of its first album (“Infest”), Papa Roach is touring to promote its recently released album “F.E.A.R.” (Face Everything and Rise) including the new single “Gravity,” which debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard Top 200.

Papa Roach is comprised of Jacoby Shaddix (vocals), Jerry Horton (guitar), Tobin Esperance (bass) and Tony Palermo (drums).

Also touring with Papa Roach and Five Finger Death Punch, and opening Saturday night, are bands In This Moment and From Ashes to New.
