Elks provide school libraries with books
Four Everett School District elementary libraries started school with new books this year. Last spring, four librarians were asked to submit their wish lists to the Everett Elks Lodge. Elks members purchased books on the lists. Books for Whittier were delivered in early June. Books for Madison, Hawthorne and Garfield elementary schools were collected over the summer and were delivered in time for opening day. The cost of the project was about $1,200.
