SHORELINE — Alton Hammond threw three touchdown passes, two to Ryley Johnson, as Lynnwood escaped with a non-league victory over Shorecrest on Friday night.
The Scots drove down to the Lynnwood 17-yard-line with 24 seconds remaining, and Ian Prieve converted a 34-yard field goal that put Shorecrest ahead for the moment.
A dead-ball offsides penalty was called on the play, however, and officials whistled the play dead. Prieve tried again from 29 yards but that attempt was blocked, and Lynnwood ran out the clock.
Jack Koss went 14-for-30 for 238 yards and four touchdowns for Shorecrest (1-1).
Lynnwood’s Hammond completed 10 of 26 passes for 197 yards and three scores, and Johnson caught four passes for 138 yards.
