OLYMPIA — Washington parks and recreation officials are allowing free access to all state parks on Sept. 26.
The State Park “free day” is in recognition of the 22nd anniversary of national Park Lands Day — the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands.
No Discover Passes will be needed on Saturday, Sept. 25 for day-use visitors.
‘Free days’ apply only to vehicles, not overnight stays or rented facilities.
Washington State Parks will have one more ‘free day’ in 2015: Wednesday, Nov. 11, in honor of Veterans Day.
