Regarding the article, “Haggen files for bankruptcy as massive expansion goes awry”: Perhaps a CEO hoping to make a super bonus and a name for himself by biting off more than Haggen could chew(?). Oh, was that a pun?
I love Haggen and drive to Lake Stevens and Snohomish to shop just because they’re there. They may be slightly more expensive; however, not more than Whole Foods, where I also shop. Haggen carries many items I prefer.
What I really find upsetting is that they also have a store in Clearview. Who knew? I live near Mill Creek and Clearview would have been a great option for me. That’s on Haggen. Perhaps they cut back on advertising budget.
I heard about this issue four or five days before it was detailed in your paper and I’ve looked for confirmation ever since; even Seattle news TV shared this before “you” did. What’s up with that?
Now I would like to know if any of the three mentioned locations will be closing. Any information on that?
Perhaps you could clarify in your “What’s up with that?” column.
Thank you.
