Cars, more in Monroe
East Main Street in Monroe will be shut down from Lewis Street to Ann Street for the Beer, Bacon, Barbecue and Bands Car Show from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. People can vote on their favorites at the event. For more information, contact the Monroe Chamber of Commerce.
PUD to hold energy fair: Snohomish County Public Utility District has scheduled an energy fair from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The event will take place at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St. People can learn about residential and small commercial PUD conservation programs that can help save energy and money. PUD staff will be on hand to answer questions and area contractors will be there to provide their expertise.
Volunteers needed: The city of Snohomish’s Public Safety Commission is seeking applications. The deadline is 4 p.m. Sept. 28. Commissioners serve four-year terms advising the police chief and other officials on matters including liquor license applications and renewals. They also work with Neighborhood Watch leaders and community disaster preparedness plans. Applicants must live in city limits or own a business there. There is no pay for the position.
