MARYSVILLE — Alex Crittenden recorded 14 kills, Emma Tran tacked on 10 kills and Grace Jarnagin dished out 30 assists to lead the Timberwolves to a sweep of the Knights in a 4A District 1 loser-out match on Saturday.
With the win, Jackson clinched second place in the district and the tournament’s second and final state tournament berth.
No Kamiak stats were reported for the match.
“Our mindset of serve-receive changed during the game, and especially in the third set,” Jackson coach Mindy Staudinger said. “The girls were excited, but they kept their focus and composure. We’ve had ups and downs this season, but they’re feeling pretty good and they should. I’mv very proud of them.”
Staudinger added that as an 11-7 team heading into state, Jackson is playing its best volleyball of the season at the perfect time.
