MUKILTEO — Neighbors who are concerned about a 112-home development on steep terrain above Picnic Point Road plan to meet for a discussion Sunday afternoon.
Snohomish County planners Sept. 10 published a final environmental study for the project on 60th Avenue W known as Frognal Estates. The proposal is now set to go to the county hearing examiner, who can approve it, send it back to planners for revisions or deny it.
The Picnic Point Preservation Committee worries that the 22-acre development would increase traffic, storm runoff and landslide risks. Their meeting is planned for 2 p.m. at Mukilteo City Hall, 11930 Cyrus Way. More info about the meeting: picnicpointpreservation@gmail.com or go to “Picnic Point Preservation Committee” on Facebook. About 70 people showed up for an earlier meeting in July, organizers said.
The county first received an application to build the subdivision in 2005. Integral Northwest Corp. of Everett controls the company pursuing the development.
