Lynnwood tattoo and salon to raise money for breast cancer research

Dragons of Heaven Tattoo and Black Halo Salon in Lynnwood have announced a fundraiser to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 24, a portion of the proceeds from pink ribbon tattoos, hair services, waxing services, facials and other offerings will be set aside for the charity.

Learn skills in Marysville to become a barista

Marysville Parks and Recreation is offering a Barista Training class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Living Room Coffee House, 1212 State Ave. Practice time and light lunch are included. Viking Fest &Pub tour planned by city of Arlington, business group

The Historic Downtown Arlington Business Association, together with the City of Arlington, plan to present their first annual Viking Fest &Pub Tour on Oct. 3. Red Carpet Gala planned for Edmonds Center for the Arts

Edmonds Center for the Arts’ Eighth Annual Red Carpet Gala and Auction is scheduled for 5 p.m. Oct. 3 at 410 Fourth Ave. N in Edmonds. Home Instead Senior Care office is helping launch the Alzheimer’s Friendly BusinessSM program. Designed to make the community more Alzheimer’s friendly, Home Instead now has free online resources and an online training module to help local businesses equip their employees with the information and resources needed to welcome families who are caring for a loved one with the disease.

Simple Box celebrates first anniversary in Marysville

Simple Box, a portable storage company headquartered in Lynden, has celebrated two business milestones. The company marked its 18 year anniversary on Aug. 1 and also celebrated the first anniversary for their Marysville location. The Marysville location serves customers from Stanwood to Seattle. Plans are in the works to expand the business into Eastern Washington and beyond.
