Incumbent Alderwood Water and Wastewater Commissioner Donna Cross is running unopposed in the Nov. 3 general election.
Cross is seeking re-election to one of two Alderwood Water and Wastewater District positions on the November ballot.
The District includes Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Brier and nearby unincorporated areas of south Snohomish County, and parts of Edmonds, Bothell, Mill Creek and Mukilteo.
Cross recently sent this statement introducing herself to voters:
Donna Cross: It is a solemn responsibility and privilege to serve on the Board of Commissioners for Alderwood Water and Wastewater District. Many factors guide me in decision-making, and a couple illustrations are: whether this action will benefit ratepayers financially and will this improve delivery of service? What will the impact be for ratepayers 10, 20, 50 years in the future? We strive to make sound decisions and do so deliberatively.
Obviously, the top issue of concern is the drought we are experiencing. Our knowledgeable staff manages and monitors water flows skillfully. We are confident that our district has a sufficient supply for this summer and fall. Our hope is that this winter will bring colder weather for a great snow pack!
The success to this governing body is interaction between manager, staff, and the Board of Commissioners. Our Board is wonderfully cohesive — all are free to ask questions, request additional information (which staff always provides) and have open discussions.
Keeping current with emerging issues and challenges is my priority. Never do I take your vote for granted. Thank you.
