As Pilchuck Audubon Society Board president, I invite the public to attend our candidate forum for Snohomish County Executive, County Council, and Everett City Council races. This free event will be 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 1 at the PUD Auditorium, 2320 California Street in Everett.
The event is co-sponsored by Futurewise, Forterra, and KSER 90.7 FM Radio. Thanks go to Ed Bremer of KSER for moderating the event. To date, the following candidates have agreed to participate:
County Executive: Dave Somers
County Council: Greg Tisdel, Brian Sullivan
Everett City Council: Cassie Franklin, Charlene Rawson, Brenda Stonecipher and Erik Richerson.
Several candidates have declined to participate — county councilmember Stephanie Wright and Everett City Council members Scott Bader and Judy Tuohy. We have not heard from County Executive John Lovick or Everett City Council Member Ron Gipson. We are hoping they will agree to take part.
The focus of the forum will be on transportation, land use, and environmental protection issues.
