Several months ago, voters at HeraldNet.com did a great job of forecasting box office success when we asked which summer movie you were most excited about. “Jurassic World” and “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” ruled the day, while “Fantastic Four” spent about four less-than-fantastic days in theaters.
So for our latest poll, we took a page from Hollywood. We churned out a sequel, asking for your most anticipated fall movie. Put another way, we asked which movie you’re most excited to see while you’re waiting for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Here’s how the vote went, along with a brief synopsis* of each film.
*Note: All plot synopses are approximate.
“Spectre” (33 percent of the vote): James Bond drives an amazing car, beds an attractive woman, and fights a shadowy criminal organization. Spectre is an anagram of respect, which you have to give to a man who has been doing all of those things since 1962.
“The Martian” (30 percent): When Matt Damon is stranded on Mars, the women of the world band together to try to bring him home … once food deprivation has slimmed him down to look like 1990s Matt Damon.
“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Katniss Strikes Back, the Final Chapter” (22 percent): In the fourth movie in this epic trilogy — you do the math — Jennifer Lawrence threatens to finally prevail, but Hollywood’s wealthy elites keep forcing her to entertain us.
“The Peanuts Movie” (9 percent): Cut to sad Charlie Brown, walking with his head down as a mournful piano plays.
“Pan” (6 percent): Hugh Jackman’s relationship with his favorite kitchen tool is threatened when a gorgeous cookie sheet moves into the pantry. I sure hope it’s that and not another “Peter Pan” movie.

And now for something more serious: Traffic. We want to know what you think about the new I-405 toll lanes that will open soon.
