SEATTLE — Five governors from U.S. states will meet with Chinese counterparts Tuesday to discuss clean technology and economic development as part of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Seattle.
Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s office said Friday that in addition to Inslee, the American governors include Jerry Brown from California, Rick Snyder from Michigan, Terry Branstad from Iowa and Kate Brown from Oregon.
Inslee’s office said the Chinese governors attending the third U.S.-China Governors’ Forum would be: Sichuan Party Secretary Wang Dongming, Beijing Mayor Wang Anshun, Chongqing Mayor Huang Qifan, Zhejiang Governor Li Qiang, Shandong Governor Guo Shuqing, and Shaanxi Governor Lou Qinjian.
Xi will be in Seattle Sept. 22-24 as part of his first U.S. state visit since becoming president in 2013. He will meet President Barack Obama at the White House on Sept. 25.
