OLYMPIA — The state Department of Natural Resources has lifted a ban on outdoor burning on DNR-protected lands in western Washington.
Commissioner of Public Lands Peter Goldmark said in a news release that a fall weather pattern with cooler, wetter conditions in areas west of the Cascade Mountains allowed the decision.
A burn ban remains through Sept. 30 on DNR lands east of the Cascade Mountains.
Fireworks and fire-starting devices such as exploding targets, sky lanterns and tracer ammunition remain illegal on all DNR-protected lands.
