The city is having a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Carnegie Library building, 105 Cedar Ave., to discuss uses for the Hal Moe Pool site. It has not been used since 2007. Now that the new Snohomish Aquatic Center is open, the school district has returned ownership of the property to the city. More info: snohomishwa.gov/461/Hal-Moe-Pool-Site.
Help build Arlington boat launch: The Haller Park boat launch is set to be rebuilt after 20 years of being unusable for boat trailers. The Stillaguamish Tribe, Evergreen Fly Fishing Club and city funds are providing money for the project. The new launch is for river access on the Stillaguamish for kayaks, drift boats, rafts and research pontoons. It will be just west of the existing boat ramp. Ramp planks are to be installed Sept. 20 through Oct. 1 and the city is seeking volunteers to help hand place 700 interlocking paving tiles Oct. 2, 3 and 10. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact project manager Bill Blake at 360-403-3440 or bblake@arlingtonwa.gov.
