Living in an “old school” household (some will argue “just old”) where the “printed” word is still appreciated and the morning newspaper (OK — sports and comics; what else is there?) is a ritual — ink on my fingertips and the smell of print in the morning reminds me of ….
Anyway, it pleases me no end to read Art Thiel has been added to your newspaper. We appreciate a newspaper’s view on the world and subscribe to the Everett Herald because we value the editorial content. Newspapers are not the same. The news is the same; however, the presentation, the “slant” varies greatly. (Hello folks, Fox News is not news. It’s propaganda with a conservative slant of idiocy.) Adding Art Thiel as a sports columnist re-affirms our selection of the Everett Herald and want you to know that we have ties to his columns from his Seattle P-I days. (Gasp!)
Last century is all we’ll admit to.
Art’s take on sports will enrich sports readers with his diverse knowledge and perspectives. We may not always agree; however, we sports readers will look forward to his insights. I know I do. He’s one of the best sports/editorial type columnists around and recall fondly meeting Art at a PTA meeting (Arrowhead Elementary) lo these many years ago!
I’ll look forward to his ink on my fingers frequently in the future. Welcome Art, we love ya, man!
Now, about those comic strip selections ….
