Judd &Black golf tournament raises $11,000 for nonprofits

Rick Kvangnes of Judd &Black presented a total of $11,000 to the North Everett Boys &Girls Club and Christmas House at the conclusion of the company’s annual charity golf tournament last month at Battle Creek Golf Course. Kvanges gave a $3,000 check to Mike McGinnis, unit director of the North Everett Boys &Girls Club. The club offers licensed childcare, sports leagues, summer camps, drop-in memberships and Kids Café meal program that provides 75 to 100 member kids with dinner every day. He also presented presented an $8,000 check to Christmas House board members. Christmas House, a non-profit charity that was formed in 1981, provides Christmas joy to 8,970 children and 3,060 low-income families throughout Snohomish County last year.

Marysville Tulalip chamber plans Business Before Hours event

The next Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce Business Before Hours event is scheduled for 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday at the Tulalip Resort Casino’s Canoes Cabaret Room. The topic is self-management and the speaker is author Brad Worthley. Go to the Chamber website for more information and registration.

Event to connect teens with employers, apprenticeship programs

Workforce Snohomish, Snohomish County Labor Council, other local organizations have developed Trade UP, a free two-day experience to connect teens with area employers and apprenticeship programs. Training will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Arlington Airport. Skanska USA employees donate to Everett Public Schools Foundation

The Everett Public Schools Foundation thanked Skanska USA employees for a more than $1,000 donation that will kick-start the district’s Innovators in the classroom project this year. Funds raised will be used for a variety of school-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) projects for students in the Everett Public Schools. Skanska USA is a project development and construction company that’s doing work at Boeing at Paine Field.

Seattle Genetics offers common stock

Bothell-based Seattle Genetics announced that total gross proceeds from the underwritten public offering of its common stock will be approximately $552 million before underwriting discounts, commissions and other offering expenses are deducted. The company plans to use the net proceeds from the offering to fund its research and development efforts including public product trials.
