Meet police dogs: The Lynnwood Police Department is planning a public police dog event from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Park, near the library on 44th Avenue W. Demonstrations are planned at 1 and 2 p.m.
Fundraiser items for the police dog program will be for sale, including stuffed animals and challenge coins.
New pet rules in Arlington: The Arlington City Council on Monday unanimously approved new laws about tethering pets. The regulations are set to take effect by Oct. 1.
The rules limit when and how long animals can be tethered along with the length and type of leashes and collars that can be used. They also require access to clean water and shelter at all times. The changes come after a number of people complained to police and city staff about a dog they worried was being tethered outside too often, too long and without enough care.
