SEATTLE — The King County Medical Examiner’s Office says a 25-year-old woman who was pulled from Lake Washington after her catamaran overturned has died.
The Seattle Times reports that Kelsey Brigance and two men were on a 21-foot catamaran that overturned in high winds and choppy water around 5 p.m. Sunday.
The police department’s Harbor Patrol pulled the men out of the water, but Brigance had become trapped beneath the catamaran.
Police estimated she had been underwater for almost six minutes when she was pulled unconscious from the water.
The medical examiner listed her cause of death as drowning and has classified it as an accident.
