Congratulations to the Washington State Department. of Transportation and commissioners who have found a way to make traffic worse! Starting Sept. 27, all of the two-person carpools will join the remaining congested lanes on I-405, making the travel time even longer! Those seeking to escape this I-405 nightmare will further congest the side streets or crowd over to I-5 through Seattle … duh!
For those of you choosing to pay this new ransom “toll” to drive in the lane(s) we taxpayers already paid to build, you are now part of the problem in the country … and that is taking privileges which are paid by the taxpayers. So when you attempt to exit your lane of paid privilege, while the rest are crawling along bumper to bumper, don’t expect anyone to let you in.
Be aware the federal law requires these “toll lane” drivers to average 45 mph in their toll lane when they slam on their brakes to cut into that small space opening in front of you!
Don’t rage as you sit longer in traffic; instead direct our elected governor and state legislators to replace their seven appointed state Transportation Commissioners and Transportation Secretary Lynn A. Peterson and her assistants with real traffic solvers. Otherwise the law only allows this to fail for two years before it can end.
