I’m responding to the announcement that the Everett Clinic plans on affiliating with the DaVita Health Care Partners. DaVita is a publicly traded company, attached to Wall Street. I’m concerned that with this new affiliation, and the intended expansion of the Everett Clinic, that our health care might take a second place to profit. Wall Street is concerned about one thing, profit.
Health care consolidation seems to be a current trend. The Everett Clinic appears to be in an expansionist mode. Let’s watch this one to ensure that members of the clinic do not lose in this “bargain.”
