The primary revelation from Seahawks coach Pete Carroll’s Monday afternoon press conference was that running back Marshawn Lynch was scheduled to undergo an MRI on his injured hamstring Monday.
Lynch suffered the injury while catching a fourth-down pass toward the end of the first half of Sunday’s 26-0 victory over Chicago. Lynch had already been a game-time decision because of a calf injury, and while Lynch played Sunday he did not emerge from the locker room until nearly eight minutes had elapsed. Lynch did not return in the second half, finishing with 14 yards on five carries.
Carroll revealed Monday that Lynch had already undergone an MRI on his leg last week. Carroll said he would not know the extent of the injury until later this week once the results of the MRI had been examined.
In Lynch’s absence, undrafted rookie Thomas Rawls filled the void, gaining 104 yards on 16 carries.
