BELLEVUE — Authorities in Bellevue say a 2-year-old girl in a stroller was killed when a sport-utility vehicle crashed with a smaller car and pushed it onto the sidewalk.
Police said the head-on crash happened Tuesday morning on 140th Avenue Northeast when the smaller car, a Nissan Sentra driven by a 43-year-old Bellevue man, turned left in front of an oncoming Dodge Durango driven by a 29-year-old Kirkland woman.
The SUV pushed the other car up onto the sidewalk, striking the stroller as well as the child’s 25-year-old mother.
The mother suffered minor injurie. Both drivers were taken to Overlake Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said the drivers were cooperating with the investigation, and neither drugs nor alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash.
