In The Herald’s guest commentary, Pete Sepp pins his hopes on Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell to pass a permanent ban on Internet Access Taxes, the Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act. However, if we are to rely on these senators to get the job done, then unfortunately, the only thing we can count on is breaking out our check books for this added expense. Let’s examine their recent failures.
Both Cantwell and Murray voted with Obama’s Democrats to kill a bill for the sake of ideology, part of which would have allowed for the permanent sales tax write-off for Washingtonians.
Does anyone here think for a moment that Jackson and Magnuson would have let Washingtonians down by not seizing on these opportunities? I think Cantwell and Murray have overstayed their effectiveness and need to move on.
