Duane Morris has been hired as the girls basketball coach at Jackson High School.
Everett School District athletic director Robert Polk announced the hiring Friday afternoon.
Morris replaces Mark Haner, who resigned to take over as the girls basketball coach at Shorewood High School in June.
Morris has high school coaching experience as an assistant in the boys basketball programs at King’s and Eastside Catholic.
He inherits a Jackson team that was 26-21 in Haner’s two seasons as head coach. The Timberwolves were 10-14 last season.
“I spoke with several people about Duane,” Polk said in a press release. “Each person raved about his ability to coach the game and help student-athletes succeed in the classroom and on the court. The girls basketball players at Jackson will learn a great deal from Duane.”
