Weekend best bets: Circus, Sausage Fest, Vikings …

Big show: The circus is in town through Sunday at Xfinity Arena in Everett. There are animals, including elephants, aerial acts, daredevil motorcycle riders and more. Show up early for a close-up look at the show and meet some of the performers. Get the details in our story.

Eat up: The Everett Sausage Fest, a Bavarian-themed fair with carnival rides, food booths and entertainment, is at Immaculate Conception/Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, 2619 Cedar Ave., Everett. The hours are noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday. A free shuttle bus runs from the south parking lot of the Everett Transit Station from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Free.

The Vikings are coming: The City of Arlington is hosting its first Viking Fest and Pub Tour on Saturday. It includes plenty of family friendly events in the morning, including weapons demonstrations, tug of war and a kjott-bread (pizza) eating contest. Monsters on wheels: Monster Bash is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field. You can see and touch a collection of burly vehicles, including monster trucks, a Sherman tank and a aircraft rescue-and-firefighting truck. Kids under 13 in costume get in free.

A bit of history: Granite Falls’ 50th annual Railroad Days is Saturday. Starting at 11:30 a.m., the Grand Parade is the centerpiece of this weekend’s celebration, with a kids parade first. There’s also a street fair, pancake breakfast, carnival rides and more. Local businesses also have sales and entertainment planned during the festival. Get the details in our story.

Gardening: Meerkerk Gardens’ fall nursery sale is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There will be garden art by local artists and plants for sale. Specialty nurseries will be selling exotic plants. The gardens are in Greenbank on Whidbey Island.

Arty: The Previously Loved Art Sale is from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at ArtWorks in Downtown Edmonds. The art sale features paintings, drawings, sculptures, art posters, crafts, art books, periodicals and art supplies.

Fall fun: Check out a pumpkin patch or a corn maze. There are plenty all over Snohomish County. Check our list to find one near you.

Build it: Lego enthusiasts will flock to BrickCon 2015: MOCking History! this weekend at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. The event is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. View thousands of models created by adult Lego hobbyists from around the nation and build Lego masterpieces in the BrickCon Building Zone. Admission is $10 per person or $36 for a family or group of four (children under 5 free). Get tickets at the door or at brickcon.org.
