With the upcoming elections, most of the focus of voters are on local city and county races. Also the state ballot issues are in the forefront of many voters’ minds.
But, in my opinion, one of the ballot issues that will affect county citizens for the next decade are those of electing responsible citizens to the County Charter Review Commission.
I will be supporting a lifelong member of Snohomish County, Jim Donner, for one of the positions. Jim, who grew up in Snohomish, has been involved in many community activities over the years and has been a resident of Warm Beach for the past 35 years.
Jim is very civic-minded and has worked on political campaigns for both Republicans and Democrats — preferring to support the “best candidate,” rather than a just a member of one party or the other. He has been very involved in county governmental affairs, and was recognized by the County Council several years ago by having a bridge named in his honor.
Jim is a veteran who is proud to have served his country. He also served on the last non-partisan appointed Council Redistricting Committee.
Jim has been a small business owner and is now retired so he will have time to spend on work of this very important committee to the benefit of all citizens of Snohomish County.
