BREMERTON — Bremerton police are searching for a person who set a cat on fire, leading to its death.
Police say a man out walking just before midnight Sunday noticed something on fire that appeared to be moving. The man realized it was a cat burning and called 911.
KOMO-TV reported officers arrived to find the cat no longer on fire but suffering from burns on its back, tail and head.
Animal control officers took the cat to an emergency veterinarian where it was euthanized due to the severity of its injuries.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Bremerton police.
