Here are some highlights from Seahawks coach Pete Carroll’s Monday morning radio show on 710 AM:
– Carroll was feeling good following Seattle’s 38-7 victory at Minnesota on Sunday. He said he felt there was a momentum coming to the team and that things are feeling right again with the Seahawks.
– Carroll credited the way they handled the week of practices leading up to the game for the team’s performance. The team slowed down the tempo in practices to keep guys fresh, and Carroll said the players looked fast and played fast.
– Carroll thought Seattle’s linebackers played their best game of the season. That was a point of emphasis during the week because Minnesota came into the game leading the NFL in rushing, so that unit played a big role in the nature of the game.
– Quarterback Russell Wilson has been absolutely amazing over the past three games. However, Carroll said it wasn’t a case of any light going on with Wilson, that it’s just been a continuation on Wilson’s part. He credited the offensive line as much as Wilson, saying the protection has been much better, and that Wilson’s numbers are better because the offense collectively has played better.
– Rookies Frank Clark, Tyler Lockett and Thomas Rawls all had big games. Carroll said Clark was really a factor. Clark played more at defensive tackle than at defensive end because of Jordan Hill’s toe injury, and Carroll said that may be the best place for Clark going forward. Carroll also credited Lockett for his ability to get an extra few yards at the end of his catches.
– Carroll was asked if center Patrick Lewis, who moved into the starting lineup four games ago, was an unsung hero. Carroll didn’t give Lewis all the credit for the improved play on the offensive line, but he had noting but praise for how Lewis has done with regards to organizing the line.
