SEATTLE — Authorities say a man was stabbed after trying to thwart an armed robbery in Seattle’s U-District.
The Post-Intelligencer reported that police arrested the suspect, who was being held down by shoppers in the Saturday incident.
Seattle police say the suspected robber had been brandishing a knife when he demanded money from the clerk at the Safeway.
According to police, a 26-year-old witness approached the robber and forced him to the ground. The robber stabbed the man and tried to get away when he was confronted by two more people, who helped hold him down.
Police arrived and arrested the suspect, who was taken into custody at the King County Jail.
The stabbing victim was treated at a hospital.
