On Sunday The Herald published a “cartoon” on the Opinion page.
It depicted a so-called weather man forecasting “Mostly sunny today, with a chance of mass shootings…” I find this to be in poor taste as well as insensitive and rude. I may have been able to let it go, but the “cartoon” in Monday’s Opinion section was just as bad. It depicted a crime scene with chalk outlines of the victims, signs that said “Gun-free zone” and then “Police line — Do not cross” tape strung between the two signs.
I grew up in the Roseburg area. I have family who has been personally affected by this tragedy. I assume that if your child, parent, etc. was one of the victims that you’d still publish this trash, calling it a “cartoon?” Shame on you.
