EVERETT — Blues to chase away the blues.
A cadre of women blues musicians will perform in a benefit for the nonprofit agency Citrine Health from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 10 in the organization’s event room at 2940 W. Marine View Drive, Everett.
Tickets are $40 at the door, which covers music, dancing, barbecue from BluesMann BBQ of Everett and an auction. More information is at www.citrineblues.org.
Proceeds will go to Citrine’s efforts to help connect families with health care, social services and disease prevention programs, provide women with cancer screening, offer a women’s wellness center and, finally, to benefit Citrine’s Bra Shop, which provides breast prostheses and post-mastectomy bras.
The evening will feature local women vocalists Missy Califano, Lady A, Mia Vermillion, Kate Holte and Debbie Johnson, as well as an all-women’s band including Teri Wilson, vocals and guitar; Melanie Owen, vocals and bass; Faith Stankovich, drums; and Karin Katija on keyboards.
“The singers are all volunteering our time,” said Johnson, who regularly sings with the band Weatherheads and also works as administrative assistant at Citrine. “We’ve got incredible musicians who will be performing.”
Items available for auction include a Buddy Guy guitar, a Russell Wilson autographed football, a Marshawn Lynch jersey, and a framed photo of Richard Sherman.
