The Game
The Everett Silvertips couldn’t get on track in the first period, but scored four times in the second to take control in Sunday’s 5-2 win. Carson Stadnyk had two goals and two assists and was the offensive star.
Noah Juulsen had a nice slap shot from the blue line to open the scoring. It was one of three power play goals for Everett on the evening. The Tips converted six power play goals on the weekend so that has to be an encouraging sign.
The Tips seemed to relax a bit too much in the third period as Prince Albert tallied two goals late.
“We played a little too passive and let up two goals which is not good,” Stadnyk said. “We just need to be more disciplined next time and be more mentally focused.”
The Turning Point
With Everett leading 1-0, Stadnyk and Dawson Leedahl each scored within 10 seconds in the second period to open up a three-goal lead. The Tips basically cruised from that point.
Three Stars
3. Carter Hart, Everett: The 17-year-old netminder had 25 stops and made a number of impressive glove saves in the victory.
2. Noah Juulsen, Everett: The 18-year-old defensemen had a goal and two assists on the game. His second-period goal opened the floodgates for the Tips.
1. Carson Stadnyk, Everett: Stadnyk scored his first two goals of the season and finished with four points on the night.
