UW Bothell, Cascadia College open new rec center
The University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College celebrated the opening of the new Activities and Recreation Center on Oct. 7. The project was jointly funded by student activity fees from both institutions. The Activities and Recreation Center connects to the North Creek Events Center at its top floor and is adjacent to UW Bothell’s Sports and Recreation Complex.
Behind-the-scenes tours of Lynnwood Convention Center planned
Get to know the Lynnwood Convention Center better with a behind-the-scenes tour. On the third Monday of each month Convention Center staff offer a guided tour of both front and back-of-house for individuals and groups. Business summit planned in Everett
The First North Puget Sound Small Business Summit is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center at Xfinity Arena in Everett. The event is free. Small business owners should bring business cards and brochures to promote their companies. There is no charge for suppliers to attend and no charge for buyers/agencies/primes to exhibit. ManorCare Lynnwood wins national award
ManorCare Lynnwood has been selected as a 2015 recipient of the Silver Achievement in Quality award for its outstanding performance in the health care profession. The award is through the National Quality Award Program and presented by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living. ManorCare Lynnwood was one of just six centers in Washington to receive the Silver level award.
Bartells, Oberto team up to raise money for Seattle Children’s
Bartell Drugs and Oberto Beef Jerky are joining forces to raise money for the Seattle Children’s Hospital. During the month of October, for each bag of Oberto Beef Jerky purchased at any of Bartell’s more than 60 locations throughout the state, a financial contribution will be made to the Seattle Children’s Hospital — with a total expected up to $25,000.
