Great Sunday editorial on Community Transit’s need for more revenue. (“Vote yes for more bus service.”) One thing worth noting is that with Proposition No. 1 will not just be more SWIFT Bus Rapid Transit, and accommodate population growth, but also Community Transit will serve more destinations.
With Prop. 1, the Future of Flight in Mukilteo would finally receive quality transit service. Community Transit CEO Emmett Heath promised the Mukilteo mayor and City Council in a recent presentation (12:05 into Youtube clip “2015-08-17 Community Transit Presentation to City of Mukilteo”) — that, “An example of new service to your area … a new extension from our Seaway Transit Center by the Future of Flight Foundation and into your neighborhood of Mukilteo.” With this connection, the Future of Flight will not just receive transit service but also a highly marketable transit line connecting two transit hubs — the downtown Mukilteo Multimodal Terminal and the Seaway Transit Center.
As a Future of Flight supporter and aviation photographer desperate to see quality transit service finally reach the Future of Flight, I ask for you to raise my sales tax as I do much shopping and aviation tourism in Snohomish County — and vote yes please on Proposition 1.
