VERLOT — The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has released the name of the Snohomish man who died while hiking on Mount Pilchuck east of Verlot earlier this week.
Zachary Thorngren, 22, was reported missing from his hiking group on Tuesday. Officials believe he fell about 400 feet from the area of the lookout. He died from head injuries, the medical examiner reported.
His body was recovered late Wednesday morning by a Snohomish County search and rescue team.
