SEATTLE — The Pacific Northwest’s first Holocaust museum opens its doors in Seattle Sunday.
The Henry and Sandra Friedman Holocaust Center for Humanity Museum opens with artifacts from Holocaust survivors who settled in Seattle.
The Seattle Times said the museum will share the stories and artifacts of local Holocaust survivors with exhibits that take visitors from prewar Europe to postwar liberation. Visitors will see an exhibit that ties lessons of the Holocaust to contemporary issues and local perspectives.
Museum Executive Director Dee Simon said the hope is to inspire visitors to take action and make the world a better place.
