New general manager joins Seattle Premium Outlets
Seattle Premium Outlets has welcomed Jerry Irwin as the new general manager. Irwin leads the center’s leasing, tenant relations, building operations, security and marketing initiatives and is the principal contact for the local community and business organizations. Previously he served as general manager of Miracle Mile Shops, a premiere shopping center on the Las Vegas strip.
WorkSource Everett wins national award for getting people back to work
The WorkSource Everett Reemployment Team received the James F. Walls Team Award at the National Association of State Workforce Agencies annual meeting in Indianapolis this month. Working out of the highest volume WorkSource office in the state, the WorkSource Everett reemployment team helped more than 15,000 people return to work in the last year.
BECU to close Tuesday to teach high school students financial literacy
To celebrate its 80th anniversary, BECU is closing its 40 locations Tuesday until 1 p.m. as a part of its Closing for Good initiative. Instead of serving members that morning, BECU’s more than 1,300 employees will visit 22 high schools around the Puget Sound to lead financial reality fairs for more than 3,000 students.

Dredging planned for Snohomish River
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with local sponsor Port of Everett, will begin maintenance dredging of the lower channel of the Snohomish River on Monday, starting at the Port of Everett Marina downstream to Everett’s Seaport in Port Gardner Bay. The $1.1 million project is expected to be done mid-February.
