SPOKANE — Court documents say an alleged sexual assault involving a Spokane police officer was committed against another police officer with the department.
Spokane police said Monday an employee had been put on paid leave while under investigation for a sexual assault that happened early Sunday north of Spokane.
Court documents released Tuesday show a male officer is under investigation on suspicion of second-degree rape of a female police officer.
Both attended a party at another officer’s home Saturday night and the woman reportedly told detectives she had been drinking and passed out in a bedroom. She told police she awoke to find the suspect assaulting her. Police say she tried to get away from the officer and that he abruptly left.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
