Downtown Edmonds, Woodway and nearby areas lead south Snohomish County in early ballot returns for the Nov. 3 general election.
The ballot-return rate reported Tuesday morning was 14.08 percent for the Edmonds Port District, which includes coastal parts of Edmonds, all of Woodway and nearby unincorporated areas.
The whole city of Edmonds, including areas that aren’t in the port district, had a return-rate of 11.58 percent; the rate in Woodway was 11.98 percent.
The entire Edmonds School District, including Edmonds, Woodway, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, part of Brier and unincorporated areas near those cities, was 8.84 percent. City rates were 9.65 percent in Brier, 8.56 percent in Lynnwood and 7.69 percent in Mountlake Terrace.
The countywide return rate through Tuesday morning was 8.47 percent.
The Tuesday return count includes most ballots from the second weekend of voting – ballots that had arrived at the county auditor’s office in Everett by mail or were left at ballot drop boxes through early Tuesday morning.
