LAKE STEVENS — Detectives on Thursday said they have completed their investigation into a crash on Highway 9 that took the life of a 17-year-old boy.
The driver, a Monroe-area man in his 40s, was not cited, and no criminal charges are expected, according to the Lake Stevens Police Department. There was no evidence of speed or impairment in the Sept. 8 crash, officials said.
Witnesses reported that William L. Arroyo-Ramirez, 17, was running across the highway and the driver didn’t have time to stop. The boy lived in Lake Stevens and attended Crossroads, the alternative high school in Granite Falls.
The crash happened just after 6 a.m. near Hillcrest Elementary School and Fourth Street SE.
