BELLEVUE — Expedia Inc. on Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $283.2 million.
The Bellevue-based company said it had profit of $2.12 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $2.07 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.02 per share.
The online travel company posted revenue of $1.94 billion in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.95 billion.
Expedia shares (EXPE) have risen 49 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard &Poor’s 500 index has risen slightly more than 1 percent. They closed Thursday at $127.06, a rise of 60 percent in the last 12 months.
