EVERETT — Three children and three adults were taken to the hospital Sunday night after a hit-and-run crash in south Everett.
The collision involved two SUVs and was reported around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fifth Avenue W and W Casino Road.
Detectives with the Everett Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit were on the scene into the early morning hours.
A police dog was unable to track a suspect who ran from the crash, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said Monday.
Six people, including the three children, were in a Chevrolet Tahoe.
“Due to the force of the collision, the three juveniles and one adult had been ejected from the vehicle,” Snell said.
The children, whose ages were not immediately available, were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett before being transferred to a Seattle hospital. There was no medical update on the children Monday morning, Snell said.
The Tahoe was struck on the driver’s side.
A Dodge Durango involved in the collision was abandoned in the road when the driver ran from the scene.
Police impounded both vehicles. The Durango had not been reported stolen and detectives were in the process contacting the registered owner, Snell said.
The crash occurred near the Copperstone Apartment Homes.
A detailed report about the collision was not yet available because the crash is still under investigation, Snell said.
