SEATTLE — A King County man who was convicted of recruiting teen-age girls to work as prostitutes has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on sex trafficking charges.
U.S. Attorney Annette Hayes says a federal judge sentenced Nathan Bonds on Tuesday.
Bonds was found guilty at trial last year. According to records and testimony, Bonds befriended a 15-year-old girl outside a Kent store in 2013. He raped her and coerced her to work for him as a prostitute. He advertised her services on the website Backpage.com.
Hayes says he also recruited the girl’s 17-year-old friend and a homeless adult woman.
Ultimately, both teens returned to their families and law enforcement identified Bonds as a sex trafficker. Hayes says Bonds was arrested and law enforcement recovered the computer and cellphone he used to conduct the prostitution business.
