Snohomish County Councilman Brian Sullivan increased his slim re-election lead to 61 votes over challenger Greg Tisdel in updated vote totals posted Thursday.
The incumbent had trailed Tisdel by 98 votes on election night but their positions flipped Wednesday, putting Sullivan 52 votes ahead.
Sullivan is seeking his third term in council District 2, which covers the Everett, Mukilteo and Tulalip areas.
The latest totals from the county auditor showed Sullivan with 49.7 percent of the vote compared to 49.3 percent for Tisdel.
Turnout for the election was low, with just over 34 percent of ballots returned countywide.
Many ballots received by the county auditor have yet to be tallied. Thursday’s numbers included about 61 percent of the ballots received in the Sullivan-Tisdel race.
In other local contests, Councilman Dave Somers is preparing to replace County Executive John Lovick, who conceded Wednesday. Somers had 56.5 percent in the latest vote totals.
Linda Hjelle was leading with 56.6 percent against Marty Glaser in the race for county assessor.
Community Transit’s proposed 0.3 percent sales-tax hike for bus service continued to pass, with 51.2 percent.
New election results are scheduled for release at 5 p.m. Friday.
