Air Force Airman Kevin Brackeen graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Brackeen is the son of James and Yuka Brackeen, of Oak Harbor. He is a 2015 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

American Legion Post 234 presents a Vietnam War 50th anniversary commemoration event, “RVN Revisited: Welcome Home Vets,” 2-5 p.m. Nov. 8 at 22909 56th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace. Join Vietnam War and era veterans for a spaghetti buffet dinner with special guest speakers, Vietnam War video, historical displays, music, raffle and prizes.
Veterans and their families from all military branches and eras of service are welcome to attend as well as the general public. Admission is $5 per person.
The Marysville American Legion Post 178 holds a Veterans Day open house, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 11 at 119 Cedar Ave. A short ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Veterans and their families and friends are invited. More info: 360-653-0155.
The Fleet Reserve Association Ladies Auxiliary Unit 170 sponsors a Veteran’s Day luncheon of soup and sandwiches, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 11 at 6802 Beverly Blvd., Everett.

The Marysville American Legion Post 178 will hold a flag retirement ceremony, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Jennings Memorial Park, 6915 Armar Road. People can bring flags for proper disposal, or observe the process. Donations for the food bank also are encouraged. More info: 360-653-0155.
To honor military personnel and their families, YMCA of Snohomish County family branches will be open to all military (active or retired) and their families for free to celebrate Military Appreciation Days Nov. 8-14. Military ID is required.
In addition, the Marysville Family YMCA (6420 60th Drive NE) will offer a free Military Family Night, 4-7 p.m. Nov. 21. This special evening includes dinner, games, crafts, family swim time, dodgeball and more. All Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard families with current military ID are invited. Imagine Children’s Museum hosts a free admission night for families with military ID, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 14. The museum is at 1502 Wall St., Everett. All active, reservists and retired military are welcome. Military Family Night is sponsored by the Fred Meyer Fund.
