EVERETT — Snohomish County Councilman Brian Sullivan increased his lead to 450 votes over opponent Greg Tisdel in updated vote totals released Friday evening.
Tisdel was ahead on election night but the candidates have been trading places. Sullivan, who is seeking his third term, now leads with 50.6 percent to Tisdel’s 48.5 percent. They are competing for District 2, which covers the Everett, Mukilteo and Tulalip areas.
County elections officials had received 24,988 ballots in the district and 21,391 have been counted, or more than 85 percent.
Updated numbers are scheduled for release at 5 p.m. Monday.
In other races, Snohomish Mayor Karen Guzak held a 56-vote lead over challenger Larry Countryman.
Community Transit’s proposed 0.3 percent sales-tax hike for bus service continued to pass by 50.9 percent.
Turnout was low.
By Friday, 146,897 ballots had been returned to the county, less than 35 percent of the total issued.
The county’s deadline to certify the results is Nov. 24.
